This Malayālam-script edition of the Hitopadeśa, Book I, was published in Koṭṭayam in 1847, by the Church Mission Press. On the cover, it is described as having been edited by a group of paṇḍits from England and Bengal: iglaṇḍīyavaṅgīyakatipayapaṇḍitaiḥ śodhitaḥ.

This copy, from the University of Tübingen, is part of the Hermann Gundert collection.
