Collections

Apart from the BnF and the SUB, a number of digitized manuscripts from archives around the world, which may have been miscatalogued, have been given detailed descriptions.

BnF manuscripts

The Bibliothèque nationale de France holds the largest collection of Tamil manuscripts outside India. It is comprised of manuscripts acquired over the course of many centuries by different collectors.

SUB manuscripts

The Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Hamburg holds more than 500 Indian manuscripts, mostly in Sanskrit, and hailing from South India.
