BnF Cordier collection
Palmyr Uldéric Alexis Cordier (1871–1914), was a doctor in the French colonial medical corps who completed a doctoral thesis on Indian medicine. While he was posted to Chandernagor, and then later Pondicherry, he collected hundreds of Sanskrit manuscripts, mainly on medical topics. After his death, his manuscript collection was discovered by Jean Filliozat at an antiquarian bookseller's in Paris and aquired by the Bibliothèque nationale.
