BnF Haas collection

Frédéric Haas (1843–1915) was a French diplomat, posted to India, Burma, and China, who was honoured as an officier de la légion d'honneur. Very little is known about his manuscript collection, apart from the note, Don Haas in the catalogue of Julien Vinson & Léon Feer. ― The "old shelfmark" refers to the manuscript number sometimes ascribed in the catalogue of Julien Vinson & Léon Feer and also sometimes found inscribed in black ink on a small paper cardboard tied to the string of the Haas manuscripts.
