BnF Reydellet collection

Very little is known about Reydellet or Reydelet, apart from the fact that he donated 27 Tamil manuscripts to the Bibliothèque du Roi in 1833. These 27 items are listed in the BnF entry register (inventaire 1) and in an old, undated list (NAF 5441, f311rv), but with different numbers. They were described again in the first list of manuscripts in the 1845 catalogue of Vēlāṅkaṇṇi Ārōkkiyam. ― In the column “old shelfmark” is first given the manuscript number in the BnF entry register (inventaire 1), then the number in the handwritten list (NAF 5441).
